| Safety and Environment
Our primary objectives are to ensure the safety of our people in occupational and research environments and to ensure the safe and knowledgeable use of different materials that are used in the research and Factory. In addition to regulatory requirements, occupational and research activities at GCC are guided by internal policies. HSE provides guidance and technical expertise to support that commitment.
Within HSE, the Safety & Environment division includes HSE Management Systems that focus on the following areas:
• Management of the GCC Health, Safety and Environmental Program • Local and unit health, safety and environment Programs • Emergency Planning • First Aid Service
Further, the Safety and Environment division supports:
• Biological safety • Chemical safety • General Safety during operation and related services.
As outlined in the GCC Policy, all staff has a role to play in maintaining a healthy, safe and environmental sustainable Plant.
Environment
GCC envisioned from the outset the design of its plant and related activities with high degree of environmental and safety friendliness. For this reason certain measures have been taken :
Contemporary systems of bag house filters have been adopted which allow for much less than 10 mg/Nm3 emission of particulate matter. Likewise Nox and Sox have been considered to be adequatly treated in the pyro system by appropriate reduction systems and scrubbers so that negligible values are emitted to the atmosphere.
The mining plan has been based on contemporary state-of-the-art prospection, with the view to secure environment friendliness, cost effective and quality assurance.
Safety
In the realm of safety GCC plant took all necessary measures in order to render safe operation of the plant, physical setup and the surroundings of the plant. |
